Posted on December 30, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a tasty Beef Chow Mein Casserole—a quick, cheesy, and comforting dish inspired by classic Chinese takeout 🥩🥦🍜

🥘 Beef Chow Mein Casserole

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, bell peppers, broccoli)
  • 6 oz (170 g) chow mein noodles or egg noodles, uncooked
  • 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 ml) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook beef
    • In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
    • Drain excess fat.
    • Add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
  3. Mix casserole
    • In a large bowl, combine cooked beef mixture, frozen vegetables, uncooked noodles, cream soup, milk, soy sauce, sesame oil, and half of the shredded cheese.
    • Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble & bake
    • Pour mixture into prepared baking dish.
    • Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
    • Cover with foil and bake 25–30 minutes, until noodles are tender.
    • Remove foil and bake an additional 5–10 minutes to brown the cheese.
  5. Serve
    • Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
    • Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.

Tips

  • Swap ground beef for chicken, pork, or turkey for variety.
  • Add a dash of garlic powder, ginger, or chili flakes for extra flavor.
  • For crispier noodles, use crunchy chow mein noodles as a topping instead of baking them in.

I can also give a low-carb version or a slow-cooker version if you want.

Do you want me to do that?
