Posted on November 17, 2025 by Admin

Here’s an easy, no-fry, soft-and-fluffy recipe for Baked Apple Fritters — all the cozy flavor of classic fritters without the mess of deep-frying.

🍎 Baked Apple Fritters

Makes 8–10 fritters

Ingredients

Fritters

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 ½ cups peeled, diced apples (Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith)

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Make the batter

  1. In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
  3. Add wet ingredients to dry; fold gently until just combined.
  4. Fold in diced apples.

3. Form fritters

  • Scoop heaping spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  • Lightly flatten the tops with the back of a spoon (they don’t spread much).

4. Bake

  • Bake 10–12 minutes, or until puffed and lightly golden.

5. Glaze

  1. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Dip warm fritters into glaze OR drizzle glaze over the top.
  3. Let set 5–10 minutes.

⭐ Tips & Variations

  • Extra apple flavor: Sauté apples 3–4 minutes in butter + cinnamon before adding to batter.
  • Caramel version: Drizzle with warm caramel instead of glaze.
  • Chunky fritters: Add up to 2 cups apples for extra juicy fritters.
  • Healthier option: Replace half the flour with oat flour.
