Here’s a tasty and simple recipe idea for Bacon Cheddar Mini Cheese Balls — perfect for parties, snacks, or appetizers:


Ingredients (makes ~24 mini cheese balls)

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6–8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup crushed crackers, breadcrumbs, or panko (for coating)
  • Optional: chopped chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the cheese base
    • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix until smooth and well combined.
  2. Shape the balls
    • Using a small spoon or cookie scoop, form the mixture into mini balls (~1 inch diameter).
  3. Coat the cheese balls
    • Roll each ball in crushed crackers or breadcrumbs for a crunchy exterior.
    • Press some crumbled bacon on the outside for extra flavor.
  4. Chill
    • Place the balls on a baking sheet or plate and refrigerate for 30–60 minutes to firm up.
  5. Serve
    • Arrange on a platter, optionally sprinkle with chopped chives or parsley.
    • Serve cold or at room temperature.

Tips

  • You can add spices like smoked paprika or cayenne for a kick.
  • For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese.
  • These can also be baked at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes for a warm, melty version.
