Apple cake

Classic, cozy, and smells like pure happiness while baking 🍎💛
Here’s a moist, tender apple cake that’s easy and always a hit.


🍎 Apple Cake (Soft & Spiced)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup sugar (white or brown)
  • ½ cup oil (or melted butter)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk or yogurt
  • 2 cups apples, peeled & diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

Optional add-ins

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • Extra cinnamon sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pan or loaf pan.
  2. Dry ingredients
    Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Wet ingredients
    In another bowl, whisk sugar, oil, eggs, vanilla, and milk.
  4. Combine
    Stir wet into dry until just mixed. Fold in apples (and nuts if using).
  5. Bake
    Pour into pan.
    Bake 40–50 minutes (loaf may take up to 60) until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool & serve
    Cool 15 minutes before slicing.

🍯 Optional Glaze (Highly Recommended)

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or apple cider
  • Dash of cinnamon
    Drizzle over cooled cake.

  • Use tart apples for balance.
  • Don’t overmix—keeps it tender.
  • Even better the next day.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
