Here’s a simple, crispy air fryer onion rings recipe 🍽️
(No deep frying, quick, and teen-friendly.)
Ingredients
- 1 large onion (yellow or white)
- ½ cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp paprika (optional)
- 2 eggs
- ¾–1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best)
- Cooking spray or a little oil
Instructions
- Prep the onion
- Slice the onion into rings and separate them.
- Set up breading stations
- Bowl 1: flour + salt, pepper, paprika
- Bowl 2: beaten eggs
- Bowl 3: breadcrumbs
- Coat the rings
- Dip each ring in flour
- Then egg
- Then breadcrumbs
- Press gently so the coating sticks.
- Air fry
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Spray the basket lightly with oil.
- Place onion rings in a single layer (don’t stack).
- Spray tops lightly with oil.
- Cook 8–10 minutes, flip halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve
- Sprinkle with a little salt.
- Great with ketchup, ranch, or honey mustard.
Tips
- Want extra crispy? Double-dip in egg and breadcrumbs.
- No eggs? Use milk instead.
- Don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if needed.
