Here’s a crispy homemade Fish Fingers recipe—golden on the outside, flaky inside, and way better than store-bought 🐟✨


Crispy Fish Fingers

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) white fish fillets (cod, haddock, pollock, or tilapia)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

1. Prep fish

  • Pat fish dry.
  • Cut into finger-sized strips.

2. Set up breading station

  • Bowl 1: Flour mixed with salt and pepper.
  • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs.
  • Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs mixed with paprika and garlic powder.

3. Bread fish

  • Dredge each piece in flour → egg → breadcrumbs.
  • Press crumbs on firmly.

4. Fry

  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry fish fingers in batches 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  • Drain on paper towels.

Baked Fish Fingers (Healthier)

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place breaded fish on a greased baking sheet.
  3. Spray lightly with oil.
  4. Bake 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway.

Air Fryer Fish Fingers

  • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway.

Serving Suggestions

  • Tartar sauce or ketchup
  • Lemon wedges
  • Fries or mashed potatoes
  • Peas or coleslaw

Tips

  • Panko gives extra crunch.
  • Chill breaded fish 10 minutes before cooking to help coating stick.
  • Don’t overcrowd pan when frying.
