Here’s a rich, fudgy Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies recipe with that classic bakery-style marbled top 🧁


Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder

Cream Cheese Swirl

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.
  2. Make brownie batter
    • Melt butter and stir in sugar.
    • Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    • Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
  3. Make cream cheese mixture
    • Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
    • Add egg yolk and vanilla; mix until creamy.
  4. Assemble
    • Spread brownie batter evenly in pan.
    • Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture on top.
    • Swirl gently with a knife (don’t overmix).
  5. Bake
    • Bake 30–35 minutes, until center is just set.
    • Cool completely before cutting for clean swirls.

Tips for Perfect Swirls

  • 🍫 For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake
  • 🌀 Use a butter knife and make slow figure-8 motions
  • 🧊 Chill brownies 30 minutes before slicing for neat edges
  • 🍓 Add raspberry or strawberry jam dots for flavor contrast
