Breadsticks

Here’s an easy homemade breadsticks recipe 🥖


Soft Garlic Breadsticks (Makes ~12)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2½–3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Garlic Topping

  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (or 2 cloves minced garlic)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Optional: grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, parsley

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast: Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add olive oil, salt, and 2½ cups flour. Mix until dough forms.
  3. Knead 5–7 minutes (by hand or mixer) until smooth and soft.
  4. Cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  6. Roll dough into a rectangle, cut into sticks, or roll into ropes.
  7. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake 12–15 minutes, until lightly golden.
  9. Brush with garlic butter and sprinkle toppings.
  10. Serve warm.

Variations

  • Cheesy: Add mozzarella on top before baking.
  • Cinnamon sugar: Skip garlic, brush with butter + cinnamon sugar.
  • Stuffed: Wrap dough around cheese sticks before baking.
