Here’s a simple, savory recipe for Sausage and Cheese Muffins—perfect for breakfast or a snack 🧀🥓


Sausage and Cheese Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup melted butter or vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: 375°F / 190°C. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease well.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add cheese and sausage: Stir in shredded cheese and crumbled cooked sausage.
  4. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, and melted butter.
  5. Mix batter: Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fill muffin cups: Divide batter evenly among muffin cups, about ¾ full.
  7. Bake: 18–22 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean and tops are golden brown.
  8. Cool: Let muffins cool 5 minutes before serving.

Tips

  • Cheese variations: Try pepper jack, mozzarella, or a mix for different flavors.
  • Spicy twist: Add ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes or chopped jalapeños.
  • Make ahead: Freeze baked muffins individually; reheat in the microwave or oven.
