Sausage dipped pancakes

Posted on October 25, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a fun and delicious recipe for Sausage Dipped Pancakes—perfect for a hearty breakfast or brunch:

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 8–10 breakfast sausages (links)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tsp vinegar/lemon juice)

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • Vegetable oil, for greasing the skillet

Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruit

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausages:

    • In a skillet or pan, cook sausages over medium heat until fully cooked.

    • Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly.

  2. Prepare pancake batter:

    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

    • In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.

    • Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined (batter should be slightly lumpy).

  3. Dip sausages in batter:

    • Using tongs or a fork, dip each cooked sausage into the pancake batter, coating it evenly.

  4. Cook sausage-dipped pancakes:

    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with oil or butter.

    • Place each batter-coated sausage on the skillet.

    • Cook 2–3 minutes per side, until pancake batter is golden brown and cooked through.

  5. Serve:

    • Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or your favorite breakfast toppings.

💡 Tips:

  • For a crispier exterior, let the batter rest 5 minutes before dipping the sausages.

  • Mini sausages work great for kid-friendly breakfast bites.

  • You can prepare batter-dipped sausages ahead of time and refrigerate; cook just before serving.

I can also give a baked version on a sheet pan, which makes multiple sausage-dipped pancakes at once—perfect for feeding a crowd. Do you want that version?
