Warm & Sweet Blackberry Cobbler

Posted on December 6, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a cozy, comforting Warm & Sweet Blackberry Cobbler — juicy berries bubbling under a golden, buttery topping. Perfect with vanilla ice cream!

🫐 Ingredients (serves 6–8)

Filling

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
  • ½–¾ cup sugar (adjust based on berry sweetness)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (1 tbsp if using fresh berries)

Cobbler Topping

  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (100 g) sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) milk
  • Optional: ½ tsp cinnamon or nutmeg

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Set oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare the berry filling

  1. In a bowl, combine blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, and cornstarch.
  2. Stir until berries are coated and mixture is glossy.
  3. Pour into a greased 9×9-inch (or similar size) baking dish.

3. Make the cobbler topping

  1. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and optional cinnamon.
  2. Add melted butter and milk; stir until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Pour batter evenly over the berries — do not mix.

4. Bake

  • Bake for 40–50 minutes, until the top is golden and the berries are bubbling around the edges.

5. Serve warm

  • Spoon into bowls and top with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of cream.

🌟 Tips & Variations

  • Extra crisp edges: Sprinkle a tablespoon of sugar on top before baking.
  • Use mixed berries: Blueberries + raspberries + blackberries work beautifully.
  • With spices: Add cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom for warmth.
  • Thicker filling: Add an extra ½ tbsp cornstarch if using very juicy berries.
  • Make ahead: Reheat at 300°F (150°C) for 10–15 minutes before serving.

If you want, I can also give you a biscuit-style cobbler or a Southern-style “dump cobbler” version — just tell me!
