Here’s a super easy, moist, and flavorful recipe for Cream Cheese Sausage Balls — a twist on the classic that makes them extra tender and irresistible. 🧀🥣✨

🧀 Cream Cheese Sausage Balls

Makes: 24–30 sausage balls
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20–25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 8 oz (1 block) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ½ cups Bisquick (or any baking mix)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional:
    • ½ tsp garlic powder
    • ½ tsp onion powder
    • ¼ tsp paprika or cayenne for heat

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease.

2. Mix Ingredients

  1. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sausage.
  2. Add Bisquick, shredded cheddar, and any optional seasonings.
  3. Use your hands or a stand mixer to mix until fully combined.
    • Tip: If the mixture feels too dry, add 1–2 tbsp milk.

3. Shape the Balls

  • Roll into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.

4. Bake

  • Bake 20–25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

5. Serve

  • Serve warm with honey mustard, ranch, or spicy mayo.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra Cheesy: Add a mix of cheddar + pepper jack.
  • Spicy Version: Use hot sausage + cayenne or jalapeño.
  • Make Ahead:
    • Roll raw sausage balls and freeze on a tray.
    • Once solid, store in freezer bags for up to 2 months.
    • Bake from frozen: add 5 minutes to cook time.

These cream cheese sausage balls stay moist and tender — never dry like the original Bisquick version can be. Perfect for parties, breakfast, or snacking!
