Here’s a classic Cream Cheese Sausage Balls recipe—soft, cheesy, and savory, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a snack.


Cream Cheese Sausage Balls

Makes: About 24–30 balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (pork or turkey), raw
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups Bisquick or self-rising flour
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or onion powder for extra flavor

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    • 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine raw sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and Bisquick (and optional seasonings).
    • Mix thoroughly until a uniform dough forms.
  3. Form balls:
    • Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F / 74°C).
  5. Serve:
    • Serve warm as an appetizer, snack, or part of a brunch spread.

✅ Tips:

  • For a lighter version, use turkey sausage and reduced-fat cheddar.
  • You can make these ahead of time and freeze unbaked balls; bake directly from frozen with a few extra minutes.
  • Adding chopped herbs like parsley or chives gives extra flavor and color.
