Chicken Cordon Bleu Meatloaf

Posted on December 2, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a Chicken Cordon Bleu Meatloaf that tastes like the classic dish—tender chicken, melty Swiss, savory ham, and a creamy Dijon topping. It’s easy, comforting, and a crowd-pleaser.

🍗🧀 Chicken Cordon Bleu Meatloaf

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

Meatloaf:

  • 2 lbs ground chicken
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko works well)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Filling:

  • 6–8 slices deli ham
  • 6–8 slices Swiss cheese (or shredded Swiss, about 1 cup)

Topping Sauce (optional but amazing):

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey or 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp paprika

Instructions

1. Preheat

Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment or lightly grease it.

2. Make the meat mixture

In a large bowl, mix:

  • Ground chicken
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Salt & pepper
  • Paprika
  • Dijon
  • Worcestershire

Mix gently until combined—don’t overwork it.

3. Form the loaf with filling

You can do this two ways:

Method A (easiest — loaf pan):

  1. Press half of the meat mixture into the loaf pan.
  2. Layer in:
    • Ham slices
    • Swiss cheese slices
  3. Cover with the remaining meat mixture and press edges to seal.

Method B (rolled loaf):

  1. Spread meat mixture on parchment into a 9×12 rectangle.
  2. Layer ham + cheese.
  3. Roll it up like a jelly roll and place seam-down on a baking sheet.

4. Add topping sauce

Mix sauce ingredients:

  • Mayo
  • Dijon
  • Honey
  • Paprika

Spread a thin layer on top of the loaf.
(Reserve the rest for serving.)

5. Bake

Bake 55–70 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

If using the rolled method, check at 50 minutes.

6. Rest & slice

Let rest 10 minutes, then slice into thick portions.

🍽️ Serve with

  • Roasted potatoes or mashed potatoes
  • Green beans or broccoli
  • Rice pilaf
  • Side salad with Dijon vinaigrette

🔄 Variations

  • Low-carb: Use almond flour instead of breadcrumbs.
  • Extra gooey: Add shredded mozzarella with the Swiss.
  • Crispy topping: Sprinkle breadcrumbs + butter over the sauce layer.
  • Spicy: Add crushed red pepper or spicy mustard to the mix.

If you’d like, I can also give you:

  • A mini-loaf / muffin-tin version,
  • A slow cooker version, or
  • A freezer-friendly prep plan.
