Keto mozzarella sticks

Here’s a simple, crunchy, keto-friendly mozzarella sticks recipe—no flour, no breadcrumbs, and super low-carb!


🧀 Keto Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients (12 sticks)

  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1–2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (avocado oil or light olive oil recommended)

🔪 Instructions

1. Freeze the cheese

  • Unwrap the mozzarella sticks and freeze for at least 1 hour.
    (This prevents melting too fast when fried.)

2. Prepare the coatings

  • Bowl 1: Lightly beaten eggs
  • Bowl 2: Almond flour
  • Bowl 3: Parmesan + Italian seasoning + garlic powder + paprika + salt + pepper

3. Bread the sticks (double-coat)

Dip each frozen stick in:

  1. Egg
  2. Almond flour
  3. Egg again
  4. Parmesan mixture

Press the coating firmly so it sticks.

Freeze again for 20–30 minutes (important for crispiness).


4. Cook

A. Frying (best for crunch)

  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry 2–3 minutes until golden brown.

B. Air Fryer

  • Spray or brush lightly with oil.
  • Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 6–8 minutes, turning halfway.

C. Oven

  • Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping once.

🍅 Serving Ideas

  • Sugar-free marinara (heated)
  • Ranch or garlic aioli
  • Pesto dip
