Here’s a detailed recipe for Classic Cherry Delight, a no-bake, creamy, fruity dessert that’s always a crowd-pleaser:

🍒 Ingredients (serves 8–10)

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

  • 1 box (12 oz) graham crackers

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip), divided

  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Base

  1. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer about half of the graham crackers to form a base. Break crackers as needed to fit.

2. Make the Cream Layer

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

  2. Fold in 1 cup of the whipped topping until fully combined.

3. Assemble Layers

  1. Spread the cream mixture evenly over the graham cracker base.

  2. Layer the remaining graham crackers on top of the cream layer.

  3. Spread the remaining 1 cup whipped topping over the graham crackers.

  4. Pour the cherry pie filling over the top and spread evenly.

  5. Optional: sprinkle with chopped nuts.

4. Chill

  • Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours (or overnight) to allow the dessert to set and the flavors to meld.

5. Serve

  • Cut into squares and serve chilled.

💡 Tips

  • Make Ahead: This dessert actually tastes better after sitting overnight.

  • Extra Creamy: Use full-fat cream cheese and real whipped cream for richer flavor.

  • Variation: Substitute cherry pie filling with any other fruit (blueberry, strawberry, or peach) for a twist.

  • Graham Cracker Crunch: Toast the graham crackers lightly for a slightly crunchier texture.

Classic Cherry Delight is creamy, fruity, and simple to make—a perfect make-ahead dessert for holidays, potlucks, or any special occasion.

I can also give a layered mini-cup version that’s great for parties or individual servings.
