Creamy steak & parmesan spaghetti

Posted on November 22, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a rich, creamy, restaurant-style Steak & Parmesan Spaghetti you can make at home. It’s silky, savory, and incredibly comforting.

Creamy Steak & Parmesan Spaghetti

Ingredients (2–3 servings)

For the steak

  • 1 ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak (8–12 oz)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional: garlic powder, smoked paprika

For the creamy parmesan sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan (plus more for serving)
  • ½ cup pasta water (as needed)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of crushed red pepper, splash of white wine
  • Optional: chopped parsley

Pasta

  • 8 oz spaghetti

Instructions

1. Cook the pasta

  1. Bring salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook spaghetti to al dente.
  3. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.

2. Sear the steak

  1. Pat steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high.
  3. Sear 2–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness) until desired doneness.
  4. Rest 5 minutes, then slice into strips or bite-size pieces.

3. Make the creamy parmesan sauce

  1. In the same skillet (with browned bits left in), lower heat to medium.
  2. Add butter and garlic, sauté 30–60 seconds.
  3. Pour in heavy cream; stir and let simmer gently.
  4. Add Parmesan. Whisk until melted and smooth.
  5. Add a splash of pasta water if it becomes too thick.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.

4. Combine

  1. Add drained spaghetti into the sauce and toss until coated and glossy.
  2. Add the sliced steak on top or mixed through.

5. Serve

  • Top with more Parmesan
  • Fresh parsley
  • Crack of black pepper
  • Optional drizzle of lemon juice for brightness

Variations

  • Steak au poivre twist: Add cracked peppercorns and a splash of brandy to the pan before the cream.
  • Mushroom version: Sauté sliced mushrooms before adding the garlic.
  • Spinach upgrade: Stir in a handful of spinach at the end.
