Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the meatloaf mixture
    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, eggs, garlic, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and herbs.

  3. Assemble the casserole

  4. Bake

    • Remove the foil and bake for another 20–25 minutes, or until tater tots are golden and crispy and the meatloaf is cooked through (internal temperature 160°F / 71°C).
  5. Add final cheese layer
    • Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of shredded cheese over the top in the last 5 minutes of baking if you want it extra gooey.

    • Let the casserole rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
