  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional, for added flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (optional, for added flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Mix the ingredients:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  • Use your hands or a spoon to mix everything together until fully incorporated. The mixture will be a little sticky, but that’s perfectly fine!

3. Form the sausage balls:

  • Using your hands, scoop out about 1-inch portions of the sausage mixture and roll them into balls. You should get about 20-25 balls, depending on the size.
  • Place the sausage balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

4. Bake:

  • Bake the sausage balls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and cooked through. You can check if they’re done by cutting one open to ensure it’s no longer pink in the center.

5. Serve:

  • Remove the sausage balls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
