Posted on November 20, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a classic Seven-Layer Dip recipe — a crowd-pleasing, colorful, and creamy party favorite! Perfect for chips, veggies, or crackers. 🌮🥑🧀

🥗 Seven-Layer Dip

Serves: 8–10
Prep time: ~15–20 minutes
No cooking required (except optional beans)

Ingredients

Layer 1 – Refried Beans

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • Optional: 1 tsp taco seasoning

Layer 2 – Guacamole

  • 1 cup guacamole (store-bought or homemade)

Layer 3 – Sour Cream

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp lime juice (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp taco seasoning

Layer 4 – Salsa

  • 1 cup chunky salsa (mild or medium)

Layer 5 – Shredded Cheese

  • 1–1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend

Layer 6 – Diced Tomatoes

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes, drained

Layer 7 – Toppings

  • 2–3 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Layer the base
Spread refried beans evenly in the bottom of a shallow 9×9-inch or similar dish.
  2. Add creamy layers
Spread guacamole over beans, then layer sour cream on top. Smooth each layer carefully.
  3. Add fresh layers
    Spread salsa over sour cream.
  4. Add cheese and veggies
Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly. Top with diced tomatoes.
  5. Finish with garnishes
Sprinkle green onions, olives, and cilantro on top.
  6. Chill & serve
Refrigerate for 30 minutes to let flavors meld (optional). Serve with tortilla chips.

⭐ Tips & Variations

  • Spicy version: Mix diced jalapeños into guacamole or salsa.
  • Layer order: Can vary—cheese and tomatoes can go on top of salsa.
  • Make ahead: Assemble up to 8 hours in advance; cover and chill.
  • Protein boost: Add cooked taco-seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken as layer 1 or 2.

If you want, I can also give a “dip in a cup” individual portion version, perfect for parties or lunchboxes.
