Chocolate cream dessert with passion fruit juice powder

Posted on November 16, 2025 by Admin

Here is a rich, silky chocolate cream dessert that pairs beautifully with the bright, tangy flavor of passion fruit juice powder (Tang-style, freeze-dried, or powdered concentrate). The contrast of deep chocolate + tropical acidity is amazing.

🍫✨ Chocolate Cream Dessert with Passion Fruit Juice Powder

(Serves 4)

Ingredients

For the chocolate cream:

  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk (whole preferred)
  • 200 g (7 oz) dark chocolate, chopped (50–70% cocoa works best)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

For the passion fruit topping:

  • 2–3 tbsp passion fruit juice powder (taste and adjust—brands vary in sweetness/tartness)
  • ½ cup water or milk (for dissolving)
  • Optional:
    • 2 tbsp condensed milk (for creamy topping)
    • Or ½ cup whipped cream (for fluffy topping)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the chocolate cream

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together:
milk + heavy cream + cocoa powder + sugar + cornstarch + salt.
  2. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until it starts to thicken.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until melted and smooth.
  4. Add vanilla extract.
  5. Pour into cups, small bowls, or jars.
  6. Let cool, then chill for 2–3 hours until set and silky.

2. Make the passion fruit layer

Choose one of these styles:

A. Tangy Gel-Style Topping (bright & punchy)

  1. Dissolve 2–3 tbsp passion fruit powder in ½ cup warm water.
  2. Taste—add more powder for more acidity.
  3. Let cool completely.
  4. Spoon gently over chilled chocolate cream.

B. Creamy Passion Fruit Mousse Topping

  1. Whisk ½ cup whipped cream with 1–2 tbsp passion fruit powder until smooth.
  2. Pipe or spoon onto chilled chocolate cream.

C. Thick Passion Fruit Sauce (sweet & glossy)

  1. Mix ½ cup milk + 1–2 tbsp condensed milk + 1–2 tbsp passion fruit powder.
  2. Whisk until smooth and slightly thick.
  3. Pour over the chocolate.

⭐ Optional Add-Ins

  • Crunch layer: crushed cookies or chocolate wafers under the chocolate cream.
  • Fresh fruit: add a few fresh passion fruit seeds on top for texture.
  • Dark chocolate shavings for garnish.
  • A tiny pinch of chili powder in the chocolate for a spicy-tropical twist.
