Honey garlic shrimp, sausage & broccoli

Here’s a delicious Honey Garlic Shrimp, Sausage & Broccoli dish — sweet, savory, garlicky, and loaded with smoky sausage flavor. It cooks fast, uses simple ingredients, and can be served over rice, noodles, or eaten as a one-pan meal.


🦐 Honey Garlic Shrimp, Sausage & Broccoli

Serves: 3–4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 12–15 minutes


⭐ Ingredients

Protein & Veggies

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 8 oz smoked sausage or andouille, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp oil (for sausage)
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter (for shrimp/broccoli)

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (or 1 tsp rice vinegar)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional for thickening)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Mix the Honey Garlic Sauce

In a bowl, whisk together:

  • Honey
  • Soy sauce
  • Garlic
  • Lemon juice
    Optional: Mix cornstarch + water separately if you want a thicker sauce.

2️⃣ Cook the Sausage

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add sliced sausage and sear 3–4 minutes, until browned.
  • Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Cook the Broccoli

  • In the same skillet, add a little more oil or butter.
  • Add broccoli and sauté 3–4 minutes, until bright green and tender-crisp.
  • Remove and set aside with the sausage.

4️⃣ Cook the Shrimp

  • Add shrimp to the skillet with a small splash of oil or butter.
  • Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink.
  • Pour in the honey garlic sauce.
  • Add the cornstarch slurry now if using.
  • Simmer 1 minute until slightly thickened.

5️⃣ Combine Everything

Add back:

  • Sausage
  • Broccoli

Toss to coat everything in the sauce.
Cook another 1–2 minutes, letting flavors blend.


🍽️ Serve Over

  • White rice
  • Fried rice
  • Noodles
  • Cauliflower rice
  • Quinoa

Or enjoy it by itself!


🔄 Variations

Cajun Style (Spicy)

Add:

  • Cajun seasoning
  • Andouille sausage
  • Extra red pepper flakes

Extra Saucy

Double the sauce ingredients.

Kid-Friendly

Reduce garlic to 2 cloves and use mild sausage.

Veggie Boost

Add:

  • Bell peppers
  • Snap peas
  • Carrots
