Honey glazed carrots

Posted on March 26, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Honey-Glazed Carrots—sweet, tender, and perfect as a side dish:

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook Carrots
    • Place carrots in a saucepan and cover with water.
    • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 6–8 minutes until just tender. Drain.
  2. Make the Glaze
    • In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Stir in honey until it’s fully combined and starts to bubble lightly.
  3. Glaze the Carrots
    • Add the drained carrots to the pan.
    • Toss to coat evenly in the honey-butter mixture.
    • Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until carrots are glazed and lightly caramelized.
  4. Season & Serve
    • Add salt, pepper, and optional thyme or parsley.
    • Serve warm as a side dish.

Tips for Best Results

  • Uniform size: Cut carrots evenly so they cook evenly.
  • Optional flavor twist: Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for a warm, autumnal flavor.
  • For extra shine: Drizzle a little extra honey over the carrots just before serving.

💡 Quick Hack: If short on time, you can roast carrots in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes with butter and honey instead of boiling—they’ll caramelize beautifully.

I can also make a “Honey-Glazed Carrots with Garlic and Herbs” version for a more savory-sweet twist if you want. Do you want me to do that?
