Cajun corn on the cob

Posted on October 24, 2025 by Admin
Ah, Cajun corn on the cob — a spicy, buttery, Southern classic that turns simple corn into a flavor-packed treat. 🌽🔥🧈

Here’s a simple old-school method that delivers sweet, tender corn with a kick of Cajun spice:

🌽 Cajun Corn on the Cob

Serves: 4
Time: 25–30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 ears of fresh corn, husks removed

  • 4 tbsp butter, softened

  • 1–2 tsp Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade, see below)

  • Salt, to taste

  • Optional: lime wedges for serving

Optional Homemade Cajun Seasoning (for about 2 tbsp)

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ¼ tsp dried thyme

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or stovetop

    • Grill: Preheat to medium-high heat.

    • Stovetop: Fill a large pot with water, bring to boil for boiling method.

  2. Prepare seasoned butter

    • Mix softened butter with Cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt.

  3. Cook the corn

    • Grill method: Brush corn with a little oil. Grill 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally until lightly charred.

    • Boil method: Boil corn in salted water 5–7 minutes until tender.

  4. Serve

    • Spread Cajun butter generously over hot corn.

    • Optional: squeeze fresh lime over the top for a zesty kick.

Tips

  • Extra smoky flavor: Wrap corn in foil with butter and Cajun seasoning, then grill 15–20 minutes.

  • Adjust spice level: Increase or decrease cayenne in Cajun seasoning for milder or hotter corn.

  • Variations: Sprinkle with grated Parmesan or smoked paprika for a slightly different twist.

If you want, I can also give you a Southern-style “dirty” Cajun corn on the cob version, where the corn is boiled with garlic, onion, and spices right in the pot for an extra deep flavor before slathering with butter.

Do you want that version?
