Slow-cooked ham is a great choice—easy, flavorful, and perfect for a comforting meal. Here’s a simple, reliable way to make it:


🐖 Slow-Cooked Ham (Tender & Juicy)

Ingredients

  • 2–3 kg ham (bone-in or boneless, fully cooked or raw)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 cup pineapple juice or orange juice
  • 2–3 tbsp mustard (Dijon or regular)
  • 4–5 cloves garlic (optional)
  • Whole cloves (optional, for studding)
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prep the ham

  • If your ham has skin, score it in a diamond pattern.
  • Optional: stud with cloves for extra flavor.

2. Make the glaze

  • Mix brown sugar, honey, juice, mustard, garlic, and pepper.

3. Slow cook

  • Place ham in slow cooker.
  • Pour glaze over it.
  • Cover and cook:
    • Low: 6–8 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours

(If fully cooked ham, you’re just heating + flavoring. If raw, ensure it cooks thoroughly.)

4. Finish (optional but recommended)

  • Transfer ham to oven.
  • Brush with leftover glaze.
  • Bake at 200°C for 10–15 minutes to caramelize.

Tips

  • Baste occasionally if you can.
  • Add pineapple slices for a sweet twist.
  • Let it rest 10 minutes before slicing.
