🥧 Shepherd’s Pie

Shepherd’s pie is a classic comfort dish made with ground meat, vegetables, and a creamy mashed potato topping, baked until golden and slightly crispy on top. Traditionally it uses lamb, while beef versions are often called cottage pie.


🥩 Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb (or beef)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2–3 cups Mashed potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1–2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and Black pepper to taste
  • Optional: beef/lamb broth or gravy

1. Cook the filling

  • SautĂ© onion and carrots until soft.
  • Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  • Stir in peas, Worcestershire sauce, and a little broth or gravy.

2. Prepare the topping

  • Make creamy mashed potatoes with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.

3. Assemble

  • Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish.
  • Top with mashed potatoes and smooth or create ridges with a fork.

4. Bake

  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–30 minutes until golden on top.
