Cheesy Potato Gratin Stacks

Cheesy Potato Gratin Stacks are mini versions of the classic French dish Gratin Dauphinois. Thin slices of potato are layered with cream, garlic, and cheese, then baked in a muffin tray until crispy on the outside and creamy inside.


🥔 Ingredients

  • 3–4 medium potatoes (thinly sliced)

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or parmesan)

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)

  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)

  • Fresh thyme or parsley (optional)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.

  2. In a bowl, mix cream, garlic, melted butter, salt, and pepper.

  3. Toss the thin potato slices in the cream mixture.

  4. Stack the slices vertically in each muffin cup.

  5. Sprinkle cheese between layers and on top.

  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until potatoes are tender and tops are golden.

  7. Let them cool for 5 minutes, then gently remove.

  • Serve with grilled chicken or steak

  • Great for holiday dinners or party appetizers

  • Add bacon bits or caramelized onions for extra flavor
