Chocolate-covered brownie bars

Posted on March 11, 2026 by Admin

Chocolate-covered brownie bars are rich brownie squares coated in a smooth chocolate shell—almost like a homemade candy bar. 🍫🥮 They’re great for parties, dessert trays, or gifting.

Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup (225 g) butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt

Chocolate Coating

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (dark or milk)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter (for smooth coating)

Instructions

1. Bake the Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C / 350 °F.
  2. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  3. Mix melted butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
  5. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt.
  6. Spread batter evenly in the pan.
  7. Bake 20–25 minutes until set.
  8. Let cool completely.

2. Cut Into Bars

  • Lift brownies from the pan.
  • Cut into rectangular bars (like candy bars).

3. Make Chocolate Coating

  1. Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil using a microwave or double boiler.
  2. Stir until smooth and glossy.

4. Coat the Brownie Bars

  1. Dip each brownie bar into the melted chocolate.
  2. Use a fork to lift it out and let excess chocolate drip off.
  3. Place on parchment paper.

5. Set the Chocolate

  • Refrigerate 20–30 minutes until the coating hardens.

Optional Toppings

Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle with:

  • crushed nuts 🌰
  • sea salt 🧂
  • sprinkles 🎉
  • shredded coconut 🥥

✅ Pro Tip:
Freeze the brownie bars for 15 minutes before dipping—this keeps them firm and makes coating much easier.
