Crispy Stacked Potatoes 🥔✨

Crispy Stacked Potatoes are thin slices of potato layered in a muffin tray or small stack, then baked until the edges become golden and crunchy while the inside stays soft.

Ingredients

  • 3–4 medium potatoes 🥔
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: grated cheese, thyme, or parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Heat oven to 200 °C / 400 °F.
  2. Slice the potatoes
Cut the potatoes into very thin slices (a mandoline works best).
  3. Season
    In a bowl mix:

    • melted butter
    • garlic
    • salt and pepper
Toss the potato slices until coated.
  4. Stack them
Grease a muffin tin and stack the slices vertically or in small piles.
  5. Bake
Bake for 40–50 minutes until the edges become crispy and golden.
  6. Finish
Sprinkle with cheese or herbs and bake 5 more minutes if desired.

Tips for extra crispiness 🔥

  • Use starchy potatoes (like russet).
  • Slice very thin.
  • Press the stacks down slightly before baking.

Optional flavors

  • 🧀 Parmesan & garlic
  • 🌿 Rosemary butter
  • 🌶 Paprika & chili flakes

🍽️ These are perfect as a side dish for steak, chicken, or burgers.
