Caramel chocolate crunch bars

Posted on November 5, 2025 by Admin
Oh yes β€” Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars are a perfect blend of gooey caramel, rich chocolate, and crispy crunch. 🍫✨ They taste like a homemade Twix with extra texture β€” easy to make, no mixer needed, and totally addictive!

Here’s a simple and decadent recipe πŸ‘‡

🍫 Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

Makes: 16–20 bars
Prep time: 15 min
Cook time: 10 min
Chill time: 1–2 hours

πŸ§‚ Ingredients

Base layer:

  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)

  • Β½ cup light corn syrup or honey

  • Β½ cup granulated sugar

  • Β½ cup creamy peanut butter (optional but adds richness)

Caramel layer:

  • 1 (11 oz) bag soft caramels (about 35–40 pieces), unwrapped

  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk

Chocolate layer:

  • 1Β½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate for sweeter bars)

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter (for smoother melting)

🍳 Instructions

1. Make the crispy base

  1. Line a 9Γ—9-inch pan with parchment paper.

  2. In a saucepan, combine corn syrup and sugar over medium heat.
Stir constantly until the mixture just begins to bubble β€” don’t let it boil.

  3. Remove from heat, stir in peanut butter (if using), and mix until smooth.

  4. Stir in the crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.

  5. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan and let it cool slightly.

2. Make the caramel layer

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt caramels with cream, stirring every 20–30 seconds until smooth.

  2. Pour over the cooled base and spread evenly.

  3. Chill in the fridge for about 15–20 minutes, until the caramel is firm but still tacky.

3. Add the chocolate topping

  1. Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil/butter in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

  2. Pour over the caramel layer and smooth out with a spatula.

  3. Chill for 1–2 hours until set.

4. Slice & serve

  • Lift the slab from the pan and cut into bars or squares.

  • For cleaner cuts, warm your knife under hot water and wipe between slices.

πŸ’‘ Tips & Variations

  • Sprinkle with sea salt flakes before chilling for salted caramel crunch bars.

  • Add chopped pretzels or nuts between the caramel and chocolate layers for extra texture.

  • Use dark chocolate for a more balanced, less sweet version.

  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temp for up to 1 week or refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
