Homemade Mazapan (Mexican Peanut Candy) 🍬πŸ₯œ

Mazapan is a traditional Mexican sweet made mainly from peanuts and sugar. It’s soft, crumbly, and melts in your mouth. The homemade version is very easy and needs only a few ingredients.

  • 2 cups roasted peanuts (unsalted)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  1. Blend the peanuts
    Put the roasted peanuts in a food processor and pulse until they become a fine powder.
  2. Add sugar

  4. Form the candy
    • Press the mixture into small molds, cookie cutters, or a muffin tray.
    • Press firmly so it holds its shape.
  5. Set the mazapan
    Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes so they firm up.

  • Don’t over-blend the peanuts or they will turn into peanut butter.
  • If the mixture feels too dry, add 1–2 teaspoons of peanut butter.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
