Crispy garlic mushroom bites

Posted on November 4, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Crispy Garlic Mushroom Bites — crunchy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside.

Ingredients (serves 2–4)

  • 12–16 oz (340–450 g) button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed

  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crispiness)

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 2–3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil (for pan-frying)

  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

  • Optional: grated Parmesan for serving

Instructions

  1. Prep the mushrooms: Pat mushrooms dry with a paper towel to help the coating stick.

  2. Set up dredging station:

    • Bowl 1: Flour, salt, pepper, and paprika

    • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs

    • Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs

  3. Coat the mushrooms:

    • Roll each mushroom in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Press lightly to adhere.

  4. Cook the mushrooms:

    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

    • Add mushrooms and cook 3–5 minutes per side, turning gently, until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Add garlic:

    • In the last minute of cooking, add minced garlic to the pan and sauté briefly with mushrooms (be careful not to burn).

  6. Serve:

    • Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

    • Garnish with parsley and Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.

Tips & Variations

  • Baked version: Bake coated mushrooms at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway, for a healthier option.

  • Extra flavor: Mix a teaspoon of dried herbs like thyme or oregano into the breadcrumbs.

  • Dipping sauces: Serve with garlic aioli, ranch, or spicy mayo for extra indulgence.

If you want, I can also give a super quick 10-minute version that uses fewer steps and cooks mushrooms crispy without breading. Do you want that version too?
