Traditional baked rice pudding recipe found

🍚✨ Traditional Baked Rice Pudding is a classic comfort dessert made with simple pantry ingredients. It bakes slowly in the oven until creamy with a lightly golden top.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted 🧈
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice
    In a saucepan, bring rice and water to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer about 15 minutes until the water is absorbed.
  2. Preheat oven
    Set oven to 325°F (160°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  3. Mix the pudding base
    In a large bowl, whisk together milk, sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt.
  4. Combine
    Stir the cooked rice into the milk mixture. Add raisins if using.
  5. Bake
    Pour into the prepared dish and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
    Bake for 60–75 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the pudding is set and creamy.
  6. Cool slightly
    Let it rest 10–15 minutes before serving. It will thicken as it cools.

Serving Ideas

  • Serve warm with extra cinnamon 🍂
  • Add a little nutmeg for deeper flavor
  • Top with whipped cream or fresh berries 🍓
