Roast beef

Roast Beef is a classic, hearty dish that can be made in the oven, slow cooker, or even Instant Pot. It’s tender, flavorful, and often served with gravy, vegetables, or potatoes. 🥩


🥩 Simple Roast Beef Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3–5 lb beef roast (like top round, ribeye, or chuck)
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Optional: garlic, rosemary, thyme, onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F.
  2. Rub the roast with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add optional herbs if desired.
  3. Place roast in a roasting pan or oven-safe dish.
  4. Roast 1.5–2 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 135–140°F for medium-rare (adjust based on preferred doneness).
  5. Remove from oven and let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve with gravy, roasted vegetables, or mashed potatoes.

🍽️ Slow Cooker Version

  1. Place roast in slow cooker.
  2. Add 1 cup beef broth, onions, and garlic.
  3. Cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours until tender.

⭐ Tips

  • Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
  • For extra flavor, sear the roast on all sides before roasting.
  • Leftover roast beef can be used for sandwiches, salads, or hash.
