Pork roast

Posted on March 3, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, juicy, and flavorful way to make a pork roast that’s perfect for a family dinner:

🥩 Classic Pork Roast

🛒 Ingredients

  • 3–4 lb (1.5–2 kg) pork loin or shoulder roast
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary or thyme
  • 1 cup chicken broth or water
  • Optional: vegetables like carrots, potatoes, onions

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).

2️⃣ Prepare the Roast

  • Pat pork dry with paper towels.
  • Rub with olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs.

3️⃣ Sear (Optional, for extra flavor)

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear all sides of the roast until golden brown (3–4 minutes per side).

4️⃣ Roast

  • Place roast in a roasting pan.
  • Add chicken broth to the pan to keep it moist.
  • Roast uncovered 20 minutes per pound, or until internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium doneness.

5️⃣ Rest

  • Tent with foil and let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  • Resting keeps it juicy.

6️⃣ Optional: Roast Vegetables

  • Toss potatoes, carrots, and onions in a little oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Add to the pan for the last 45–60 minutes of roasting.

🌟 Tips for Best Flavor

  • Marinate overnight with garlic, herbs, and a little vinegar or citrus for extra tenderness.
  • Basting every 30 minutes with pan juices keeps the roast moist.
  • Use a meat thermometer — it’s the easiest way to avoid overcooking.

If you want, I can give a slow cooker or instant pot version that makes the pork roast super tender with minimal effort.
