Here’s a simple, versatile way to make slow cooker chicken that’s tender, juicy, and full of flavor:


🍗 Slow Cooker Chicken

🛒 Ingredients

  • 4–6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 cup vegetables (carrots, potatoes, bell peppers)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Chicken

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
  2. Place onion slices and garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Add chicken on top.

2️⃣ Add Liquid

  • Pour chicken broth (or a mix of broth and a little lemon juice) over the chicken.
  • Add vegetables if using.

3️⃣ Cook

  • Low: 6–7 hours
  • High: 3–4 hours
  • Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

4️⃣ Optional Finishing Touch

  • For a thicker sauce, remove chicken and vegetables, then stir 1–2 tsp cornstarch into the liquid and cook on high 10–15 minutes.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Serve chicken with the slow-cooked vegetables and sauce.
  • Great over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta.

🌟 Tips

  • Shred or slice chicken before serving for tacos, sandwiches, or salads.
  • Flavor variations:
    • BBQ slow cooker chicken – use BBQ sauce instead of broth.
    • Lemon garlic – add lemon slices and fresh herbs.
    • Creamy chicken – stir in cream cheese or sour cream at the end.
