Duncan Hines Classic Key Lime Cake Mix

A bright, citrusy cake mix that delivers that classic sweet-tart Key lime flavor with a soft, moist crumb — perfect for spring and summer desserts.


🍰 What You’ll Need (typical prep)

  • 1 box mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

(Always check the back of your box for exact measurements.)


👩‍🍳 Basic Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 pan or two 8-inch round pans.
  3. Mix cake mix, eggs, oil, and water until smooth (about 2 minutes).
  4. Pour into pan and bake 28–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool completely before frosting.

  • Cream cheese frosting (classic pairing)
  • Whipped topping with lime zest

  • Lime glaze (powdered sugar + fresh lime juice)

💡 Easy Upgrade Tip

Add 1 teaspoon lime zest and replace the water with milk for a richer flavor. You can also poke holes in the cooled cake and pour sweetened condensed milk mixed with lime juice over it for a “poke cake” version.
