Posted on February 25, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a complete guide to an Irresistible Stuffed Chocolate Cake—rich, gooey, and perfect for chocoholics.

1. Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 1½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water

For the Stuffing:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • ½ cup heavy cream (for a ganache-style filling)
  • Optional: ¼ cup peanut butter, caramel, or fruit preserves

For the Frosting (Optional):

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3–4 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 2–4 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

2. Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9-inch round or square baking pan.

Step 2: Make the Cake Batter

  1. In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla.
  3. Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients.
  4. Stir in hot water slowly—batter will be thin.

Step 3: Prepare the Stuffing

  • Heat cream until just warm, pour over chocolate chips, and stir until smooth for a ganache.
  • Let it cool slightly before using.

Step 4: Assemble

  1. Pour half of the cake batter into the pan.
  2. Spoon the chocolate ganache or chosen filling evenly over the batter.
  3. Cover with remaining batter.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake 35–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the cake portion (not the filling) comes out clean.
  • Let it cool for 15–20 minutes.

Step 6: Frost (Optional)

  • Whip butter, cocoa, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until fluffy.
  • Spread evenly over cooled cake.

3. Serving Tips

  • Serve slightly warm for a gooey center.
  • Pair with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container for 3–4 days.

If you want, I can also give a shortcut version using just one bowl and canned ingredients that’s still decadent and stuffed, perfect for quick dessert cravings.

Do you want me to give that quick version?
