🍓 Strawberry Pretzel Salad

A classic layered dessert with salty, sweet, and creamy flavors — crunchy pretzel crust, creamy cream cheese layer, and fresh strawberry topping.

🧂 Ingredients (9×13-inch pan)

Crust

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • ¾ cup butter, melted
  • ¼ cup sugar

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped (or whipped topping)

Strawberry Topping

  • 1 package (10 oz) frozen or fresh strawberries
  • ¼–½ cup sugar (adjust to sweetness of berries)
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin (optional, for thicker topping)

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Make Crust

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, sugar, and melted butter.
  3. Press firmly into bottom of a 9×13-inch pan.
  4. Bake 8–10 minutes, then cool completely.

2️⃣ Cream Cheese Layer

  1. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in whipped cream.
  3. Spread evenly over cooled pretzel crust.
  4. Chill in fridge while preparing strawberry topping.

3️⃣ Strawberry Layer

  1. Mix strawberries with sugar and, if using, dissolve gelatin in warm water and stir in.
  2. Let cool slightly, then gently spoon over cream cheese layer.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, preferably overnight.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Slice with a sharp knife for clean layers.
  • Optional garnish: extra whipped cream or fresh strawberries.

💡 Tips

  • Prevent soggy crust: Chill pretzel layer well before adding cream cheese.
  • Gelatin helps set topping for neat slices.
  • Whipped topping substitute: Cool whip works if you don’t want to whip cream yourself.
  • Make ahead: Can be prepared a day in advance — flavors improve after chilling.

If you want, I can also give a quick 3-layer shortcut version with fewer ingredients that still tastes amazing.

Do you want me to do that?
