Here’s a tasty twist on classic brownies — Apple Brownies! They’re rich, fudgy, and have a sweet apple layer for a cozy, fall-inspired treat. 🍎🍫


Apple Brownies

Servings: 12

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Bake Time: 30–35 minutes


Ingredients:

For the brownies:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

For the apple layer:

  • 1–2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:

    • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).

    • Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the apple layer:

    • In a small bowl, toss chopped apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Set aside.

  3. Make the brownie batter:

    • In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.

    • Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.

  4. Assemble the brownies:

    • Spread half of the brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan.

    • Sprinkle the apple mixture evenly over the batter.

    • Carefully spread the remaining brownie batter over the apples (it’s okay if some apples peek through).

  5. Bake:

    • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  6. Cool and serve:

    • Let cool completely in the pan before slicing.

    • Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce.

  • 🍏 Apple variety: Use sweet-tart apples like Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith.

  • 🍫 Chocolatey twist: Fold in chocolate chips with the brownie batter.

  • 🍯 Caramel addition: Drizzle caramel over the top before baking for an extra indulgent treat.

  • 🥧 Mini apple brownies: Bake in a muffin tin for portable individual servings.
