Here’s a simple, classic Cinnamon Roll recipe—soft, fluffy, and perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Cream Cheese Glaze (optional but delicious):

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1–1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tbsp milk (to thin, if needed)

Instructions

  1. Make the dough:
    • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
    • In a large bowl, mix sugar, melted butter, salt, and eggs. Add the yeast mixture.
    • Gradually stir in flour until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead for 5–7 minutes (by hand or with a stand mixer) until smooth and elastic.
  2. Let it rise:
    • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare the filling:
    • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
    • Roll dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface, then sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  4. Form the rolls:
    • Starting at the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log.
    • Cut into 12 equal slices and place in a greased 9×13-inch pan.
  5. Second rise:
    • Cover rolls and let rise 30–45 minutes until slightly puffy.
  6. Bake:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Bake rolls 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Make the glaze:
    • Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until desired consistency.
    • Spread glaze over warm rolls.

Tips

  • For extra gooey rolls, drizzle glaze while rolls are still warm.
  • You can add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling for variation.
  • Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight for a slower rise.

If you want, I can also give you a quick no-yeast cinnamon roll version that’s ready in under 30 minutes—still soft and tasty! Do you want me to do that?
