Steak-house style marinade

Posted on October 23, 2025 by Admin
Here’s a classic Steakhouse-Style Marinade — rich, savory, and perfect for tender, flavorful steaks. 🥩

Steakhouse-Style Marinade

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar (or red wine vinegar)

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 tsp garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp brown sugar or honey (optional, for a touch of sweetness)

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional for a smoky flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Combine ingredients:

    • In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, black pepper, and paprika.

  2. Marinate the steak:

    • Place your steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet) in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.

    • Pour marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s fully coated.

    • Seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally 4–6 hours. For more intense flavor, marinate overnight.

  3. Cook the steak:

    • Remove steak from marinade and pat dry with paper towels (helps with searing).

    • Grill, broil, or pan-sear to your preferred doneness.

    • Let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Tips & Variations:

  • 🧄 Garlic boost: Add extra minced garlic or roasted garlic paste for deeper flavor.

  • 🌿 Herbal touch: Include fresh rosemary, thyme, or oregano in the marinade.

  • 🔥 Spicy version: Add 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.

  • 🍋 Tenderizing: The acid from lemon juice or vinegar helps tenderize tougher cuts.

I can also provide a quick 30-minute “express” steakhouse marinade for when you’re short on time, which still gives great flavor. Do you want that version?
