Ingredients (makes 2 sandwiches)

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 is best)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 4 slices bread (Texas toast or sourdough = elite)
  • 4–6 slices cheese
    (American, cheddar, or a combo)
  • Butter or mayo (for grilling)

Burger add-ins (pick your vibe):

  • Diced onion (raw or sautĂ©ed)
  • Pickles
  • Ketchup & mustard
  • Bacon
  • Burger seasoning

How to make it

  1. Cook the beef
    • Brown ground beef in a skillet.
    • Season with salt, pepper, and optional burger seasoning.
    • Drain excess grease.
  2. Build the sandwich
    • Butter one side of each bread slice.
    • Inside layer:
      • Bread
      • Cheese
      • Beef
      • Pickles/onions/sauce
      • More cheese
      • Bread
  3. Grill
    • Cook in skillet over medium-low heat 3–4 min per side.
    • Press lightly and flip once.
    • Cheese should be fully melted and bread golden.
  4. Rest 1 minute, slice, devour.
