Alright, back to basics done right 🍔
Here’s a classic juicy hamburger—no weird stuff, just solid technique.

Classic Hamburger

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 = juicy, don’t fight it)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Cheese (American, cheddar, Swiss—dealer’s choice)

Optional toppings
Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, bacon
Ketchup, mustard, mayo

Directions

  1. Gently form 4 patties (don’t overwork). Make a small thumb dent in the center.
  2. Season generously with salt & pepper right before cooking.
  3. Cook on a hot skillet or grill:
    • 3–4 min per side for medium
    • Add cheese in the last minute, cover to melt
  4. Toast buns if you know what’s good for you.
  5. Assemble and destroy.

Easy Flavor Upgrades

  • Smash burger: Looser ball, smash hard in a hot pan, cook fast.
  • Steakhouse vibe: Mix in Worcestershire + garlic powder.
  • Juicy hack: Butter the buns, not the meat.
  • Sauce upgrade: Ketchup + mayo + pickle relish = instant “special sauce”.
