Classic choice 😌—salmon patties are crispy on the outside, tender inside, and endlessly adaptable. Here’s a simple, reliable recipe (works with fresh or canned salmon).


🐟 Salmon Patties (Crispy & Flavorful)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon, cooked & flaked
    or 2 (14–15 oz) cans salmon, drained (bones/skin removed if desired)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 2 tbsp mayo (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp onion, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp parsley or dill, chopped
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Oil or butter for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix
    In a bowl, gently combine all ingredients until just mixed. Don’t overwork.
  2. Form patties
    Shape into 6–8 patties. Chill 10–15 minutes if the mixture feels soft.
  3. Cook
    Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.
  4. Drain & serve
    Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate.

  • With tartar sauce, lemon aioli, or remoulade
  • Over salad greens
  • On a bun like a salmon burger
  • With mashed potatoes or rice

  • For extra crispiness: mix half panko, half breadcrumbs.

  • Air fryer option: 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping once.
