Here’s a California Avocado Burger—juicy, fresh, and stacked with West Coast flavor 🥑🍔


California Avocado Burger

Ingredients (2 burgers)

Burger Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • Salt & black pepper

Toppings

  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 2 slices pepper jack, Swiss, or cheddar cheese
  • 2 burger buns (brioche or sesame)
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion (optional)
  • Crispy bacon (optional but very California)

California Sauce (Optional but Recommended)

  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Form & Season Patties
    • Shape beef into 2 patties.
    • Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook Burgers
    • Grill or pan-cook over medium-high heat.
    • Cook 3–4 minutes per side.
    • Add cheese during last minute to melt.
  3. Toast Buns
    • Lightly butter and toast buns until golden.
  4. Assemble
    • Bottom bun
    • Sauce
    • Lettuce
    • Burger patty with melted cheese
    • Bacon (if using)
    • Avocado slices
    • Tomato & onion
    • Top bun

Tips & Variations

  • Healthier twist: Use turkey or plant-based patty.
  • Extra flavor: Mash avocado with salt + lime for guacamole-style spread.
  • Spicy: Add chipotle mayo or jalapeños.
  • Low-carb: Serve in lettuce wraps.
