Air-fried crispy cauliflower

Posted on January 11, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a super crispy, air-fried cauliflower recipe—light, crunchy, and perfect as a snack or side 🥦✨

Air-Fried Crispy Cauliflower

Ingredients (serves 2–4)

Cauliflower

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets

Batter / coating

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour for gluten-free)
  • ½ cup water or milk (adjust for consistency)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Crispy layer

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or crushed cornflakes for extra crunch)
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)

Oil

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil (for spraying)

Instructions

1. Prep cauliflower

  • Wash and cut cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
  • Pat dry—extra moisture makes them less crispy.

2. Make batter

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, water/milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Batter should coat florets without dripping excessively.

3. Coat cauliflower

  • Dip each floret in batter, then roll in panko + Parmesan mixture.
  • Place on a plate ready for air frying.

4. Air fry

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Spray florets lightly with oil.
  • Air fry in a single layer 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.

5. Serve

  • Serve immediately with dipping sauce (ranch, buffalo, or garlic aioli).

Tips for Extra Crispy Cauliflower

  • Dry florets = crispier
  • Spray with oil lightly before and halfway through cooking
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket—air needs to circulate
  • Use panko or crushed cereal for maximum crunch

Flavor Variations

  • Buffalo-style: Toss cooked florets in hot sauce and a little melted butter
  • Garlic Parmesan: Add 1 tsp garlic powder + 2 tbsp Parmesan to breadcrumb mix
  • Asian-style: Toss hot florets in soy sauce, sesame oil, and sesame seeds

If you want, I can also give a super-light 3-ingredient version that’s ready in 15 minutes, or a cheesy “fried cauliflower bites” version that tastes like fried chicken nuggets 🥦🍗.

Do you want me to do that version?
