Here’s a crispy fried chicken wings recipe that comes out crunchy on the outside and juicy inside 🍗🔥


🍗 Crispy Fried Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch (this makes them extra crispy)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp cayenne (for heat)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or peanut oil)

Instructions

  1. Prep the wings
    • Pat wings very dry with paper towels (important for crispiness).
  2. Season & coat
    • In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne.
    • Toss wings until fully coated.
    • Shake off excess coating.
  3. Rest
    • Place wings on a rack and let sit 10–15 minutes (helps coating stick).
  4. Heat oil
    • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pan or fryer.
  5. Fry
    • Fry wings in batches for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
    • Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  6. Drain & serve
    • Drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
    • Serve hot.

Extra-Crispy Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the fryer.
  • Cornstarch is key for crunch.
  • For restaurant-style crispiness, fry once at 325°F for 6–7 minutes, rest 5 minutes, then fry again at 375°F for 2–3 minutes.
