Here’s a classic Grandma’s Cream Dessert—a rich, creamy, no-bake treat that’s simple, comforting, and always a crowd-pleaser 🍮✨


🍮 Grandma’s Cream Dessert

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 2 cups (480 ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream or whipping cream
  • Optional toppings: cocoa powder, cinnamon, grated chocolate, or fruit

Instructions

  1. Prepare pudding
    • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a few tablespoons of milk to make a smooth slurry.
    • In a saucepan, combine remaining milk and sugar. Heat over medium heat until warm (not boiling).
    • Gradually whisk in cornstarch mixture.
  2. Cook
    • Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens (about 5–7 minutes).
    • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Cool
    • Pour into serving dishes or a large bowl.
    • Let cool slightly, then cover and refrigerate at least 1–2 hours.
  4. Whip cream
    • Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
    • Spoon or pipe over chilled pudding.
  5. Serve
    • Sprinkle optional toppings like cocoa, cinnamon, or fruit.
    • Serve cold for a refreshing dessert.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a few drops of almond or lemon extract.
  • You can layer with crushed cookies or sponge cake for a layered dessert.
  • Leftovers keep in the fridge for 2–3 days.
