🍎 Apple Brownies with Maple Glaze

Ingredients (for 9Γ—9-inch pan)

Brownies

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup peeled and finely chopped apples (about 1 medium apple)
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Maple Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1–2 tsp milk or cream (to thin)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
    • Grease or line a 9Γ—9-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Make brownie batter
    • In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined.
    • Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    • In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
    • Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
    • Gently fold in chopped apples.
  3. Bake
    • Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
    • Bake 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).
  4. Cool & glaze
    • Let brownies cool completely.
    • Whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
    • Drizzle over cooled brownies.

Tips

  • Use crisp, sweet apples like Honeycrisp or Gala for best flavor.
  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
  • For stronger maple flavor, add 1/2 tsp maple extract to the glaze.
